Intro

Full stack software developer with a history of app production, professional improvisation, and world-class hospitality. Eager to find an organization where my imagination and passion for building new ideas can be put to good use. My technical skills paired with my desire to delight and entertain make me a valuable asset to any team. I thrive in new environments and love to find unique ways to bring together artfulness and cutting edge technology.

Born and raised in Bar Harbor, ME, I grew up fascinated with technology. In the 6th grade, I was lucky enough to participate in the Maine Learning Technology Initiative (MLTI) where I was given my first ever laptop: a Mac iBook. I was able to bring it home, and quickly became fascinated at the possibilites that it presented. I kept a keen interest in technology throughout my high school career, and began building Max/MSP applications when I got to Hampshire College.

Most recently I graduated from Chicago's premier coding bootcamp, Actualize. I graduated in September 2020, and have continued to learn new languages (like ThreeJS, ToneJS, and Vanilla Javascript).

Coding Projects

Slime.Surf (ThreeJS/ToneJS): I was hired by 300 Entertainment, a major American record label, to build a soundboard for their premier artist, Young Thug. In three short weeks I was able to learn the necessary skills to bring my vision for a 3D room in which the user could play loops of music & interact with the soundboard. The project also taught me how to work with Amazon Web Services, and their bucket system. Click here to check out Slime.Surf.

Naniel app (Full Stack Web App, Rails Backend / VueJS Frontend): I built a web app from scratch that allows users to donate their art (or other objects of value) directly to charitable causes, allowing the user (artist/collector) to choose what their cause is (or who their Naniel is) and allows them to set either a fixed price or an auction for the item (with 100% of the proceeds going to the people in need). The app also functions as a philanthropic art community where artists can connect and share their concerns for the world. Click here to check out the Naniel App.

In 2017, my collaborative web app Migos Ad Libs gained international acclaim. The website included a database of ad-libs that we used Javascript to time-sync with SoundCloud's music API. My collaborator (Alejandro Velez) and I shared a passion for hip hop and technology, and together used our skills to forge this testament to the Atlanta triplet-flow. At the outset we imagined there would be 200-300 adlibs on the entire project, but after hand-transcribing each of them (down to a tenth of a second!) our final count was over 1100 adlibs. Other Projects

In May 2020, my continued interest in the intersection of music and technology led me to a new project, feauturing a labelmate of Migos: Young Thug. In this article, Genius outlines Slime (No B), a revision of Young Thug and Chris Brown's latest release edited carefully to remove all instances of Chris Brown. About

Before COVID-19 I was a regular at The Annoyance Theatre where I performed, wrote, and directed avant-garde comedy shows. Since the pandemic struck, I have focused on education and recently completed the Actualize Boot Camp, as well as several MasterClasses (David Lynch, Tom Morello). I am excited to keep learning and better understanding this strange orb we happen to inhibit.

Fun fact, former Twitter CEO Dick Costolo was a regular performer at The Annoyance in the early 2000's.

Another fun fact: I was named after Elvis Costello, whose birthname was Declan Patrick Aloysius MacManus.
